Description
On a typical Saturday afternoon, the mother is detangling her daughter’s hair. The daughter is very pensive. She is wondering if next year when she turns sixteen, her mother would take her to the hairdresser. The toddler son is playing with his toy truck by the sleeping cat. The father is reading “Le Nouvelliste”. “Le Nouvelliste” is the oldest newspaper in Haiti, since 1898. It is over a century old. The father’s interest is caught by the cultural event: Carnival in Haiti. On January 5, 2012, the newspaper is announcing, “La ville des Cayes acceuillera le carnaval national 2012”, meaning “The national carnival 2012 will take place in the city of Les Cayes”. Les Cayes (Creole: “Okay”, English: the Cays) is a town located southwest Haiti, about 122 miles of the Haitian Capital, Port-au-Prince. This will be the first time in history that this cultural event will not take place in Port-au-Prince. The occurrence will take place from February 19 to February 21, 2012, because the Champ de Mars, which is a park in front of the Presidential palace, where the carnival used to occur, is now being occupied by the quake survivors

As always the colours and design are perfect. In this one I love all the separate details like the cat and the comb and the fruit. You could look at all this for a long time.
