Description
This Double-crested Cormorant was paddling around the north end of Jekyll Island. It’s in a near perfect profile as if it were posing for the shot. I had seen them streaking across the sky and they seemed so much darker. At times they were just black silhouettes with orange beaks. Upon further research I determined that this was a juvenile and therefore was much lighter on the head and neck. Its wing feathers are a dark blue instead of the adult’s black hue. We are close enough to see it has beautiful green eyes.
