Description
This photo was shot deep in the mangrove of Emerson Point Preserve. It was a cool and windy day, with air temps dropping because of a cold front from the day before. This photographer was getting cold. (My jacket in the car) But with the sun going down fast I had to get as many photos as I could! I did not have time to go back for my jacket. I love this photo because, I am just about always on the outside looking in or at the mangroves! This time it was the other way around. I love the root system of the mangroves they are so interesting. Looking like hanging vines the roots come from the trunk of the tree and go down to the water. They make interesting shapes as they anchor the plant firmly in the sand below! Trying to get in position to get this photo was not easy because of the hanging roots. Then I got my feet wet in the cold water of the gulf!!! Did I mention that I did not have my jacket!!! It was all well worth it to see the sunlight shining on the leaves and on the tree trunks, and to get this amazing photo I call "Inside Looking Out"!!!!
