If I were an eagle this might be the perspective from an aerial view of the area I live in Rice County Minnesota. My home is actually just off the right edge of the painting a bit below the horizon. This area of southern MN is dotted with many small lakes, a patch work of fields and wetlands edged by and laced with tree lines and small woods. A popular place for the American Pelican often seen in a slow, effortless glide passing from lake to lake. They seldom seem to fly in a perfect V pattern like many waterfowl but there is a gracefullness in their flight, almost like watching hot air balloons drifting through the skies.
