Description
This is a square photograph of an Australian white ibis (Threskiornis moluccus), one of 3 Australian Ibis species on the tidal mudflats at Cairns, Queensland, Australia caught in the moonlight giving a low key glow. A lovely bird, similar in appearance to Ibises the world over. Larger than most Ibises I have come across, up to 30 inches tall. It has a black neck and head and when it leans its head down, you see bright pink skin between the black folds.
