Dave – congratulations on this image being selected as an initial candidate for consideration in the November "Photo of the Month" for the Go Take a Hike Photography Group. Even though not advancing as a finalist, this image is most worthy of recognition as a superb photographic effort, so congratulations and well done!

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.

Like I said on one of your abstracts, simple is best. In this image strong tones between light and dark give a feeling of distance opening up the scene and stopping it from becoming 'flat'. I physically feel like the hill in the foreground is at my feet, not can be said for the mountain in the backdrop! it ..seems miles away! fantastic work. The tree finishes the composition perfectly..would love to see the same image with different conditions and see what spin that would have on it? Stunning work Dave :)

Thanks John for your very kind comment and for taking the time to view my work!
