Description
HeLa cells. Multi-photon fluorescence light micrograph of a group of cultured HeLa cells, showing the cell nuclei, which contain the cells' genetic information (DNA, red), golgi apparatus (green) and microtubules (beige). HeLa cells are a continuously cultured cell line of human cancer cells. They are immortal and so thrive in the laboratory. HeLa cells are widely used in biological and medical research. Magnification x1000 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
