Description
Harrison Wright Falls is located just below the point called "Waters Meet" in Ricketts Glen State Park. This site offers quick relief for an overheated hiker because there is a constant spry of heavy mist here, even when the water levels are low in the summer season. For a photographer, this is a mixed blessing. The cool mist feels great on your skin but every shot requires a quick cleaning of the lens, just before the shutter is snapped. The moisture laden air adds an ethereal look to the beautiful veil of the falls, especially on a late June evening.
This image was captured in Ricketts Glen State Park, in the north eastern region of Pennsylvania, USA. This scene can be found a fairly short distance from the parking area on State Route RT 118 (near the village of Red Rock).
This photo was taken on June 20th at 6:00 pm. A Canon EOS 5D DSLR camera was used through a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM zoom lens at the 27mm focal length. The exposure was a full 5.0 seconds at f/14, ISO 100. A Manfrotto tripod was used with a remote shutter release.
