I was so excited to see this Great Blue Heron. Taken about 8:10pm, this heron settled for a while on the rock in the middle of the river. His plumage is just beautiful. The only heron I've seen in this area was extremely sensitive and alert. If I was 500 yards away and not even aware of that bird, he would squawk and take off. This Great Blue was aware of me, and turned to look at me a few times, before taking off.
