Description
I photographed portraits of birds at the Dodge Nature Center in West St. Paul,Minnesota back in 1985. The volunteers would band the birds, check their health and hand them to me. It was Godlike to hold them for an image and release them back to the meadows. I used a 135 mm telephoto lens with a 25 mm extension tube on my 35 mm slr camera for the macro portraits. The 100 asa Scotch slide film was donated to me by 3M Company. Most birds were very cooperative but Blue Jays and Cardinals drew blood from my hand by pecking. I had to forget about photographing them.
