Description
Karyn Robinson, Gilbert, Arizona.
Do engaged couples still register for silver and china, or have they become more practical with their requests? I know when I married so many years ago, silver plate had replaced silver. Perhaps today it has faded from fashion completely.
It's always fun to take a look back at how we once lived. Who has time to polish silver, or iron napkins? Our grandmother's did. Items like silver, china and crystal then became treasured heirlooms, often fought over by daughters and daughter-in-laws...but rarely put to use.
I wanted to include a variety of patterns in my painting, some more ornate than others. I also liked the lavender tablecloth. I think it sets off the silver tones nicely.
This painting would look lovely hanging over a buffet in a dining room or in a kitchen.
