Mackinac Island, Michigan
An Island nestled between Michigan's upper and lower peninsulas, boast panoramic views of the Straits of Mackinac. Built in 1887, Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, overlooks the Straits of Mackinac and is purportedly the longest in the world at some 660 feet (200 m) in length, overlooking a vast Tea Garden and the resort-scale Esther Williams swimming pool. The Grand's famous Front Porch flowers include 2,500 geraniums-the hotel's trademark flower. More than 5,000 geraniums can be seen in all its flower beds combined.
