Description
This beautiful old grain storage barn is in Sarpy County, Nebraska. Here you see it just before sundown in early summer; the view is to the north and the east side of the building is just beginning to turn pink in the evening sunset. Fields of newly planted corn and soy beans stretch off the the east and north. I have added a very light texture overlay, most apparent in the smoothest areas of the sky, to enhance the tones of this image; please view that area at full resolution.

Very beautiful piece Nikolyn. I love the soft treatment and the presentation. Looking around the barn it seems like it is isolated and lonely (or at least that's the feeling that this image conveys); and I think that makes the image even more dramatic and "story telling" like. I love this. And the colours are also quite outstanding. Love your processing.
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
The colors were a very real challenge here, Hany, so I'm very glad to know you find them appealing. The farmhouse and a cluster of other outbuildings - a much larger barn and some sheds - sit off to the west of this barn and it's not that far off the road that is south of it. But there is quite a bit of space around it and the fields stretch off to the north and east, so you can get good shots in either of those directions. Thank you for your lovely comment.
