Description
The painting I did showing Cape Town's beautiful Waterfront, with the Cape Grace Hotel in the foreground and with Table Mountain in the background, called "Grace at the Table," sold to a couple in Johannesburg.
The next week a couple from New York, viewed the image of the same painting on the internet. They always buy art whereever they travel, but did not find anything that they liked while in Cape Town. When they saw "Grace at the Table ," they were very upset that it had just sold, and contacted the director of the web site and asked if I would paint another one, slightly larger, since they had stayed at the Cape Grace Hotel and it would bring back such great memories.
Of course, I was pleased to do so. I wanted the challenge to creating it even better than the first one by making the reflections on the Atlantic Ocean even more dramatic, and the sunlight on Table Mountain more realistic.
