Internationally recognized for the quality of productions, the depth and diversity of artistic leadership, and the excellence of its many community and educational programs Goodman Theatre, Chicago's oldest and largest not-for-profit theater, has been a part of life in Chicago since 1925. For over 80 years the Goodman is committed to producing both classic and contemporary works, giving full voice to a wide range of artists and visions.
The Goodman is not ornate like the Oriental or the Auditorium, and it doesn't have the opulence of the traditional venues, but its modernity makes it unique and ideal. It has two stages: The Albert theater is the big one. The Owen is smaller and offers more undeveloped or experimental plays. Nearly every seat is a good seat. It is a small cozy theater so you always feel close to the stage. This intimate room features spectacular acoustics. Seeing and hearing is not a problem at all.
