A bank of aspen trees along the edge of Silver Lake in the High Sierra mountain range of California provides a beautiful golden reflection in the fall.
Silver Lake is one of the four lakes that make up the June Lake Loop. This beautiful group of lakes is accessed off of Highway 395, between the towns of Mammoth Lakes and Bridgeport. This area is on the eastern side of the High Sierra mountain range, and Yosemite National Park is on the western side. So, this area provides some of the same magnificent scenery, but it is much less traveled.
Adventurous people will actually hike back into the backcountry and then up and over the top and into Yosemite!
