Description
This is Walney Beach at sunset, the sky is full of golden light, and the locals are still out there on strips of sand walking their dogs and playing with the kids! I was born in this area and have walked this stretch of beach many times, and the view of the Irish Sea is always beautiful. Walney Island is connected by a high level bridge to Barrow-in-Furness a Northern English town, that was mainly known for industry and many a ship was launched from Vickers-Armstrongs Ltd. a well known shipbuilder in the town. It's been privatised for years, and had a few name changes, it's now known as BAE Systems Submarines. When I was very young I used to spend a lot of time on this beach and have some happy memories tucked away!
