I took this Gold Mine With Light At The End Of The Tunnel Entrance Nature Fine Art Photography photograph while hiking with some friends to show my son an old cave I had not been to in over fifty five years. The mine is located in the in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in the San Gabriel Valley Southern California.

As a kid this was a big adventure each time to I would enter the cave tunnel, walk through crystal clear water at the cave entrance till I got to the drier part of the mine. There is a natural water spring running inside the mine so it is always wet and the top of the cave is dripping with little drops of water. Then natural stream running through inside the mine has a beautiful light emerald glow to it.

When I was a kid I used to light candles to give me enough light to see the magnificent beauty of the mineral despots on the walls and cave floor and dream about finding chunks of gold. I loved the outdoors and being out in nature, just me and my dog and the adventure of hiking to an old gold mine. Back then I called it a cave.

This photo shows the sunlight shinning through the entrance of the mine creating this golden sparkle to the entrance and on the cave floor.

Jerry Cowart - My journey with photography is an ongoing and ever-evolving process. What I have discovered is to enjoy the moment, to love the sound of the shutter as it goes off and be lost in the joy of that one perfect moment and be able to capture it in my camera. My photography is about seeing and experiencing the beauty all around me and hoping it will move the viewer in a way they feel what I felt in that moment, in that once in a lifetime moment that has now been caught in the beauty of a print for all to see.
