Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
After a long summer here in the San Joaquin valley of California, the trees along the dry creek start to trade their myriad shades of green for scarlet, orange and gold. The sun doesn't stay in the sky as long and when it gets to the end of the day, it's light seems to reveal shapes in the trees that just weren't there earlier.

I very much enjoy your use of color and texture. I love the brush strokes, and the reflected lighting from the tree trunks.

Excellent oil RW! Love the effect achieved on the trees with your emphasis on light and shadows. The warm colors and expressive brushwork is superb and of course your generous use of paint, I always admire! So rich and emotive! LVF

So lovely, Bob. Have been so worried with the drought out there and hope that these don't become ghost trees in reality! F/L

Thank you Nancy, I appreciate your comments. The drought is an immense problem that will have effects not just locally but nationally in regard to food production. Here is hoping for a nice wet winter!!

Oh, Bob, the title is just perfect for this superbly stylish and highly artistic painting. The first word that came up on my mind when I saw this gorgeous work was ''windy'' ..... there is a softness, a gentleness in this painting that seems to me with the feeling of a delicate wind through the foliage of the trees.... Love a lot the mood of this work. Exceptional ! f,l
