A cheap hotel and bar in New Orleans still have a faded grandeur with the ornate wrought iron balconies. The small sapling fighting to grow on the roof represents for me the plucky spirit of the Big Easy, which ain't always easy!

Steve, this is a superb image! From the bike in the lower left to the sapling on the roof at the right, and everything in between, it all expresses the character of New Orleans. BTW, I do prefer the color version. The beautiful light is such an intrinsic part of the picture, and I liker the touch of the red in the traffic light.
