Description
Gammon! The old leather Backgammon Board served me well.
We learned to play backgammon in 1979, on a cruise ship to Australia. The cruise was a gift from my father. Our wonderful children were in college. The cruise was fabulous, the food was prepared by Italian chefs and we had 5 course meals that were "to die for"! The South Seas, of course were, and are gorgeous! Ports were Papieti, Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. For some reason, we did not go into Christmas Island on that particular cruise. We loved them all. What a wonderful cruise this was. In Australia, we saw all of Sydney! Our rooms were not ready, at the hotel where we were to stay, so the bus driver was asked to keep us busy for a couple of hours. He gave us a delightful tour of all the different communities of Sydney, Australia. Later we rented our own little car and toured all up and down the coast of Australia. We had such fun with the people, visited the RSL Clubs and saw Kangaroos , Parrots, gallas, and other wonderful flora and fauna of Australia. Oh what a great trip that was!
We still play backgammon at breakfast, lunch and Dinner.

WOW ! What a lovely artwork you reproduced of this game Phyllis. It reminds me of the old good days of the 80s when I was playing with my grandfather, both we did not like losing :) Likes + Favorites.
Phyllis Kaltenbach replied:
LOL, and Thank you Asbed! My husband and I play, usually 2 times a day. We do not like loosing either. It seems that he has several days he wins and then I will win for several days. I think we are equally skilled. We learned to play on a cruise ship many years ago! Smiles!
