Description
Full moon setting in west sky while sun rising in east sky!... Bright full moon surprised me when I walked outside this early morn, between dawn and sunrise, the cool air filled with birdsong, and I scrambled to find a spot to see it set--not always easy in the wooded rolling hills of the western suburbs of Philadelphia, with not just trees in the way but loads of power/phone/tv/internet cables strung high on poles. Finally, just in time, before the sun made finding it impossible while it was disappearing behind the trees, I was able to get one nice shot, offered here for your enjoyment!
There is so much magical about the Earth's first satellite, besides the magic of its powerful gravitational effects. It takes part in a multitude of poems, songs, stories, analogies and metaphors. Beautiful night photography! V/F
Byron Varvarigos replied:
Thanks so much, Bob! I was out this evening trying for a good shot of the "hunters' moon", but no such luck! : )
Mariola Bitner
Absolutely amazng Byron! The moon is so clear! Absolutely love the composition and how you framed the image! V/F
Byron Varvarigos replied:
Thanks so much, Mariola! I think the clarity came from the sun beginning to rise, which reduced the enormous contrast between the brightness of the moon and sky. That and accurate spot-focus! : )
Eti Reid
Byron, just amazing! Love the moon and the composition here is just perfect! f/v and please add it to Visions of the night group:)

I also like what you wrote! Inspired minds think alike...!
Byron Varvarigos replied:
Yes, indeed! ^.^ Judy, if your camera gives you a choice of metering modes, set it on "spot", and aim for the moon's center with the lens at its longest focal length. This should give you best chance for reasonable brightness and detail! : )

I stopped over to see you moon! Beatiful colors! Your camera picks up much more detail than mine! fv vote
