I was drawn to the various textures found in this composition: the smooth trunk of the tree in the foreground with its spikey needles against the rough, flaking bark of the tree behind. The cool tones of the background give the depth and ambience. This is a time to stop and marvel at the vast complexity found in the most common of nature. There is much beauty in the ordinary!
