Description
A rather bizarre sunrise in the foothills with coyotes howling among the boulders. Years ago when I began to succumb to teenage sloth, my father woke me up while it was still dark every morning to get my paints and pallet ready and work on a series of oil sketches of each sunrise. From then on I wake up at the first glimmer of light in the sky and am out on my walk before the sun gets very far above the horizon. For some strange reason I never have a camera with me, so if the sunrise is especially striking I do the best I can to memorize it and make a sketch when I return home.
