Description
With its wide red, white and green stripes and Hungarian coat of arms, the flag of Hungary officially used between 1920-1946 flies beside the relatively new flag of the European Union, with its circle of twelve gold stars on a blue field. They frame the Danube River and Liberty Bridge, which joins Buda on the west side of the Danube (foreground) to Pest on the east side. Together they became the city of Budapest in 1873. I shot this photo in May 2005. Copyright 2005 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
