Description
Flag in the Atrium at the Brown Palace Hotel. While in Denver Colorado I had the pleasure of staying at the famous Brown Place Hotel and of course shot lots of photos of it. The flag went up in the atrium on July 4th and stays up until labour day.
Brown Palace Hotel is the second-oldest operating hotel in Denver, Colorado and is one of the first atrium-style hotel ever built.
Past guests include the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown (she stayed at the hotel only a week after the Titanic disaster), infamous Denver crime boss Jefferson "Soapy" Smith, Queen Marie of Romania, the Duke of San Macario, and The Beatles. Presidential guests include Theodore Roosevelt, William Taft, Warren Harding, Harry S Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower and Bill Clinton.
The Forbes Travel Guide lists the Brown Palace Hotel & Spa as Denver's most historic hotel that has hosted royalty, presidents, prime ministers and celebrities. This comes as no surprise when you consider that no two rooms are alike and the hotel offers every luxury known to man, from a musically harp infused afternoon tea and royal body treatments to casual dining with a nautical theme at the Ship tavern or dining with the spirits and politicians at the elegant Ellyton's Champagne Brunch complete with lavish tables and culinary masterpieces. Contemporary fine dining is available at the Palace Arms with specialty entrees and rave reviews including the "Best of Award of Excellence" from the famous Wine Spectator Magazine. The Palace Arms is not only famous with the Whose Who crowd, but it is hands down consistently rated among Denver's finest dining experiences.
Unexplained phenomenon has become a big part of the hotel's atmosphere, but it is embraced mostly because the spirits are harmless and there is little that can be done about making the ghost's leave.
We were hoping for a bit of paranormal activity but were a bit disappointed. The famous Sunday brunch made us feel better though!
