I particularly like the Walk sign .... over the 'head over heels' armless mannequin in the trash ... ; the twirl of wiring on the overhang/roof looks like a noose .... oh gosh, Michel... I wonder what's on the other side of the street, Lol! ...; when human nature gets the 'best' of us .. or , Humanity .. in all its glory :)))
Michel Verhoef replied:
Thanks Connie...didn't see the noose yet...nobody did even...your have eagle eyes :)) thanks for your amazing support !!

Hi Michel. Your photos are always so interesting and intriguing and I often wonder how your mind works to see the complete picture in front of you.. this entire scene, so incredible. Oddly, all the human forms here are in white and all looking away, somehow, the mannequin, with it's head in the trash can, much like a bird with it's head buried in the sand, The young man, leaning against the wall and the white man icon in the crossing is turned and moving away. Even the man carved in stone in the brick wall has shut his eyes. Oddly enough, the title is also the name of a exhibit by a Canadian Artist called Denial how has something like a half million stickers all around the world with the ENJOY DENIAL saying on it. He sends a package to anyone that is willing to promote him, for the cost of shipping only. He does satirical art about pop culture, about advertising and consumerism. He has a piece called MEANWHILE IN DENIAL which took me by surprise as your image shows a store that seems to have burnt to the ground. His piece shows a frame from a cartoon strip with a style like from the 60s and the woman in the square is on the phone and the text reads: Let's burn it all down to the ground! We can have a fresh start & live the lives we were meant to live.. so you can see, how your ENJOY THE DENIAL oddly crosses paths with the sticker on the wall. Perhaps too much information. LOL! -- Thought you might find that interesting. :-) Maggie

OMG...Maggie you are so full of enthousiasm !...and even time to write once more. What a story and what a coincidence ! I never realised the connection with him and just picked accidentally the text...it's a kind of quirckyness i guess. Would the sending of millions benefit him ? He seems to be great in marketing :-) Need to check it out later...now need to watch that last episode of House of Cards, cannot believe that i would be fascinated by the evil side of men...(since you tell stories i thought i had to return one...lol)

Brilliant! I wonder how you can find places and scenes like this. It is just perfect as composition and structure....
