Description:

The composition was inspired by Rubens's "Ascension of Mary to Heaven" in Brussels, which I had the chance to see in person. I had two intentions with the picture. One was to capture the power of his composition, creating a counterpart in abstract terms. The other to imitate the complexity of his painting, while attempting to push the boundaries of abstract complexity, within my style.
