Colorized photo from 1913
Original Title: G.W. Armstrong drug store
Location: Unknown
This is a drug store, just like our modern drug store, its a combination pharmacy and department store.
On your right we have everything a child could ever want or wish for. Candy bars the size of their head, boxes with bows, chocolate by the handful. On your left, cigars as far as the eye can see. A real smokers delight which will hopefully end up in an adults mouth and not a child's. But in those days, it usually ended up in a kid's mouth.
This is what a drug store looked like a 100 years ago. As you can see its pretty much the like the drug stores of today. Smokes, candy, this and that, gifts and trinkets, all the stuff we have today. The only thing that has really changed is the amount of lighting and the amount of sheer elegance.
