Description
Rhythm and blues: Long John Baldry Jan. 1941 - July 2005 was an English, Canadian, blues singer and voice actor. His name came from the fact he was 6' 7" tall. He lived in Canada from the late 70's untill his death and through out his career he sang with many British muscians. Rod Stewart and Elton John appeared in bands led by Baldry. It Ain't Easy was one of his most popular albums and it featured the song "Don't Try To Lay No Boogie Woogie On The King of Rock & Roll". The long version of this song starts with the story of how while playing on the streets of London he was arrested by a constable and taken to court for disrupting traffic and causing a disturbance. The constable relates that the disturbance was caused by Baldry playing some form of Boogie Woogie music and the song is Long John's reply, Don't Try To Lay No Boogie Woogie On The King Of Rock And Roll. Its a must hear.
