Description
"Devine Beginnings" has all the makings of a english country side, displaying lots of history and character. Linda Simon and niece Kendra Root love horses and are drawn to them and their surroundings. Linda loves to paint with lots of textures.... pits, cracks, and pealing paint. This particular oil painting brings many memories to mind, it is reminisce of her late Grandfather Hill, and the adventures they shared with his horses. He used to pony and cart race and also had a beautiful sleigh for winter rides at Christmas time. One time Ms. Simon rode her bike to his little farm, hopped on a pony named Elfy to ride like in Daniel Boone, Indian style. Needless to say this pony did not appreciate this custom and suddenly reared up and then dragged her along the barbed wire fence! Her favorite butter yellow shirt was ripped and she was cut and bleeding. But the worst of it all was having to explain it all to her mother because, her Mother told her she was not allowed that day to be on the other side of town!
