Description
Disillusion
I use to believe that we were moving into an amazing new world with the turn of the century.. technology was advancing at an incredible rate, medical advances would end needless suffering... and finally, finally people could move past the hate, prejudice and violence against those of another culture, religion or race. The veil came crashing down today and brought to mind a verse from a U2 song called "Sunday Bloody Sunday"
I can't believe the news today
I can't close my eyes and make it go away.
How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long, how long?
It really sums up the shock and disappointment I felt this morning listening to the news.

Feeling disillusionment means you're bummed out because you no longer believe in something usually because you find out it isn't as amazing as you thought. The definition of disillusionment is being freed from false beliefs or illusions. Disillusionment is when the hard truth of reality makes you lose faith in your dreams and ideals.
I don't know that I'm at the point of complete disillusionment ~ I believe that there are more good people in this world than bad. Events around the world are escalating in a more and more spectacular, horrific fashion. Like deer in the headlights, we are left stunned, speechless, unable to comprehend the mindset of those who can commit such evil with blind rage and conviction.
We need to wake up, check the back door and become aware and wary of the wolves in sheep's clothing...
I pray for this country, this world and for the children who will inherit this mess we've created... eam 08/20/2014
