Description
In the wild this Moth Orchid also known as the Phalaenopsis Orchid grows on trees in a constant moist environment. They have long flower spikes and therefore look very graceful. These type of Orchid Flowers can also add a touch of elegance and brighten any room's atmosphere. It blooms only once or twice a year and can last two to three months. Even this photo hanging in your room would look lovely and be a great conversation piece with all of it's colors, detail and beauty! I purchased this one at the local florist shop. I photographed it in my photo studio. Most people don't really see the real beauty of this beautiful flower of Nature at it's best "close up". In this photo I used a 140 Macro lens with 1 (#2) extension tube mounted on my Medium Format Rz Pro 2 Mamiya (film type) camera bringing me approximately 3" from the Orchid Flower filling up the entire frame in my view finder. Depth of field was extremely shallow about 3/4" to 1" deep! I mainly tried to sharply focus on the inner mouth with it's dark brown spots, yellow, red and purple surroundings having some of the foreground and background go softly out of focus. I cropped a small portion of the Orchid to emphasize the inner mouth, with all it's beauty. Such a beautiful flower to admire!
