Description
Some say that art is an examination of self and is therefore self-serving. I would disagree. I view art as a service to mankind.
The ability to inspire, invigorate, challenge, and encourage through creativity is a blessing and heavy responsibility. It is my hope that as a person views my work that they bring their own vunerability and individuality to the story I am telling on the canvas. Then, as the conversation between viewer and object evolves, that the observer will find a truth that becomes a part of their journey.
Each piece is inspired by nature, music, poetry, or scripture. Some are beautiful simply for beautys sake. Others speak to deeper ideals of strength, perseverance, power, and faith. All of my work celebrates color and contrast, light and dark.
Take a moment, a breath, a pause and enjoy.
Daffodil is a celebration of yellow. My mother, who was born in March, always felt a connection to the flowers that bloom in early spring around her birthday. They are some of the first flowers to burst through the bleakness of late winter with the promise of spring.
