Description
Found this pretty country scene in my sister in law's yard. It is a very rural area where she also has a large pond and wooded areas to one side and back. I love how the towering Pine,Ceder and Oak trees dwarf the little wooden shed. There is also Honesuckle vines on a wire fence in the scene. I will be trying for a Humming bird shot there this summer. I have this version a sort of watercolor graphic effect and it turned out quite nice. Wonderful for any wall in your home or office, or perhaps a greeting card. Many more wonderful works can be found in my various galleries, form photographs and photoart to digital creations and abstracts. Thanks for browsing, commenting and most of all for any purchases. Debbie Portwood :D...........Farm sheds and other outbuildings are used to store farm equipment, tractors, tools, hay, and supplies, or to house horses, cattle, poultry or other farm animals. Run-in sheds are three-sided structures with an open face used for horses and cattle. Shearing sheds can be large sheds found on sheep stations to accommodate large-scale sheep shearing. from availability of building materials and individual builders quirks.
Some barns were built for specific purposes: horse breeding, dairy farming, cattle feeding, drying tobacco and livery barns. As the westward migration gained strength, barns in the Midwest and West developed their own style. Although they echoed Eastern styles, the Western barn, Prairie barns and Pennsylvania Standard reflected the ranchers different needs.
Added to those were unique entries, such as the variant of the Pennsylvania standard called the Yankee version and the round barn.)
