Destroyed by arson on May 27, 1993, the residents of Newport and surrounding communities donated time and resources to rebild the Corbin Bridge. The landmark was rebuilt in 1994 and is listed in the National Register.

Driving west from Rt 89 in the Sunapee Lakes Region of New Hampshire towards Claremont, one can see many beautiful spots of classic New England scenery including several traditional covered bridges. This bridge, the Corbin Covered Bridge is in a particularly accessible and beautiful spot. The land around the bridge is a park complete with picnic tables, there is a bit of a beach along the river and there is a small airport nearby. Great for fishing or just relaxing and taking in the view.
