Description
"Clinging Goldfinch" by Debbie Oppermann. This beautiful lemon yellow American Goldfinch, Spinus tristis, was clinging to the Cup Plant, Siphium perfoliatum or Wild Sunflower, at the University Of Guelph Arboretum, Guelph Ontario Canada. Goldfinches are quite active, small, granivore, songbirds that are unmistakable when in flight with their bright yellow plumage and black wings with white bars and black head. I love this capture with the yellow Cup Plant, the yellow of the Wild Canary and the green background as they compliment each other beautifully.
