Description
Two wild mustangs battle on the tidal flats to determine which is the dominate stallion of the herd. The fight took place on tidal flats along the Outer Banks of North Carolina. European settlers returned the horse to the North American continent as the crashed into its coast. For almost 500 years this horses have lived wild and free on barrier islands along the east coast. Though wild horses are most frequently associated with the west, cowboys & indians, they were once plentiful along the coast as well. The use of black & white adds a touch of visual drama to this fast action scene. Droplets of water and much splashing around the fighting animals adds to the drama and action of the photo.
