The story behind the bridge: One year recently we had a surprise snow storm on Christmas Eve. We had invited a host of friends to a wonderful dinner which took several days to prepare. When the snow storm hit it became impossible for our friends to reach us at our mountain home. And so, we had to spend Christmas Eve without them, eating more than necessary and gazing out at this little stalwart bridge standing steadfast, waiting for our guests to show! Now I think of this bridge as representing friendship through whatever challenges come our way.
