I hope you didn't take my comment as demeaning. I simply never saw a machine like that before even though my family had a washer in the 50s (maybe the 40s, I was too young to notice). It has that cool 50's futuristic design that made the period memorable. Despite the advances in cleaning technology, I'm still waiting for my jet pack.

Having been born in the early nineteen 30s in the epic center of "The Dust Bowl" Bristow Oklahoma let me assure you that a washing machine was a great labor saving luxury mostly for the women of that most difficult period of American History.
