This photo was taken September 22, 2007 at Carolina Sandhills NWR. The body of water is called Pool D. Pool D is one of my favorite ponds at the Carolina Sandhills. The pond is filled with tree stumps that become exposed during dry periods. This was my first trip to the Carolina Sandhills with a camera. I have made, on average, 2 trips a year since 1988 to the Sandhills.
