This is why you don't telegraph and drive folks. One moment your sending a message, the next you're spinning out, running into parked cars and flying into lamp posts.
This also teaches you to wear a seat belt, these people were not wearing seat belts, but they had an excuse, they weren't invented yet. The passenger, went through the windshield of this car, but probably due to the sheer lack of speed, they probably didn't suffer too much. Luckily there is a hospital right down the road.
