Description
Waterton Lakes National Park is in south-western Alberta, Canada, where the prairies of the great plains grasslands meet the Rocky Mountains at the continental divide. The park is the smallest of the string of Rocky Mountain national parks, but in many ways is the most beautiful. It's easily accessible by road and among it's many delights is Lower Waterton Lake, shown here, which stretches down into Montana's Glacier Park. The two parks form the International Peace Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
............
Operated by Parks Canada, Waterton is open all year, but the main tourist season is during July and August. The only commercial facilities available within the park are located at the Waterton Park townsite. The park ranges in elevation from 1,290 metres (4,232 ft) at the townsite to 2,910 m (9,547 ft) at Mount Blakiston. It offers many scenic trails, including Crypt Lake trail.
Although the park has a lot of diversity, the main highlight is the Waterton lakes, the deepest in the Canadian Rockies and overlooked by the historic Prince of Wales Hotel National Historic Site.

A little about me:
My name is Janet but I go by Jann, and I am originally from Ontario, Canada and have lived on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, since 1985.
..................
I was initially trained as a Commercial Artist and Illustrator and eventually explored many other methods of art/style as well as other mediums. I work in pencil, ink, acrylics, watercolor and oil pastels. I have also enjoyed mosaic design and application, floor murals, wall murals, collapsible screens, floor cloths, graphic design. Explored sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, hand painted furniture, refinishing old frames with gold leaf or faux finishes, interior design and interior decorating.
......................
With the advent of digital cameras I came to really enjoy photography both as an artistic expression as well as a foundation for capturing interesting and exciting compositions to be painted later.
My recent creative endeavour was graduating from a certified Cosmetology Program (hairstylist and esthetics) in March 2009.
