During the late evening sunset, this lone great blue heron stood tall in this dead tree, as if waiting for something. I had to walk past this tree to get back to the road. I took several photos as I past the tree expecting the beautiful bird to fly at any moment. But he did not fly!!! I got all the photos that I wanted and then it dawned on me that there was a boat ramp around the corner from this tree!!! As fisherman returned from there fishing trips, they threw there bait on the ground for the bird to eat. Now I understood why the bird was so patient! Photo shot in Palmetto Florida.
