Description
Built in 1891 by Charles Beaman, this was a grain mill for the community but also produced electricity for his Blow-Me-Down farm. The mill closed in 1910, the last working grist mill in the area. The mill pond (behind the mill in this view), originally much larger, was used for skating as well as for ice. The site is part of the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site, home of sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens.
