Description
After a long Hawaiian vacation followed by the Christmas Holiday Season full of distractions, it was great to get back to painting again. This piece was inspired by a flower I saw in Hawaii that utterly amazed me. I have never seen anything like the Bird Of Paradise flower in my entire life. It was absolutely bizarre and fascinating and I had to paint one to add to my floral series. I took a bit of a looser path with this one and decided to do it as a half-sheet size to start the New Year off with a bang. The original is 21.75"x13.75" in size and is painted on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper with Rublev 18th century historical reproduction watercolor paints, Daniel Smith Primatek watercolor paints, and Winsor & Newton watercolor paints.
