Description
Here is a long exposure shot of the Bexar County Courthouse, Tower Life Building, and other architectural landmarks in Downtown San Antonio, TX. I was standing on Dolorosa Street facing southeast, with the San Fernando Cathedral on my back while I positioned my camera really close to the street in order to capture the car light trails and compound the luminosity of all the buildings. While the courthouse was festooned with Christmas lights, the Tower Life Building came alive a few minutes later...
The Bexar County Courthouse is the largest and oldest continuously operated courthouse in the whole state of Texas, and it was designed by Riley Gordon in the Romanesque Revival architectural style. Construction of the building ended in 1897, and it served as the seat of more than four governments, including Spain, Mexico, The Republic of Texas, The Confederate States of America, and the United States.
