Description
MODEL RELEASED. Beekeeper with EpiPen. The EpiPen is an auto-injector device used to administer adrenaline for the emergency treatment of anaphylactic shock. This is a type of allergic reaction that can be fatal in minutes. The injection is self-administered. The adult version contains 0.3 milligrams of adrenaline. Common allergens that can trigger anaphylaxis include nuts, seafood and wasp and bee stings. The symptoms include local or systemic swelling, a drop in blood pressure and breathing difficulties. People who are susceptible to such attacks should carry adrenaline with them.
