Description
All around Block Island stands stone cairns from stacked rocks. In pioneer days they were used to make caches of food and trail markers, but now they are a symbol of good luck and a symbol to tell others "I was here". Some call them rock art, but whatever they are I love them, and try to leave another before I leave. Some beaches contain dozens of rock cairns.
