Description
This is one of my favorite bays in Wellington, the home town of The Lord of the Ring. The city sits right on one of the fault lines of the Pacific Ring of Fire. After the earthquake in Christchurch and the tsunami on the east coast of Japan, I am not quite sure how long this beautiful town would last. Because of the geographical condition, most of houses on the side are small and made of wood. Many of them are renovated and lovingly restored. From distance they looked like bird houses. This small painting was done from the front seat of a car in the pochade box format, a small treasure. To me, it looked like jewel of the site . It's Karaka (local name means Orange) at dusk. The sun threw back the golden light before night fall.

i truly love this little village Phong! They do look like birdhouses, which brings to mind how small we all really are in the great realm of God's plan. Exquisite painting pochade! A real FAV and vote!
